E’s New Chapter at Lamb Rise

At the start of September, E moved into her own ground-floor apartment at Lamb Rise — and she hasn’t looked back since.

After an unsettled period, E has well and truly taken life by the horns. She is steering her own path and writing the next chapter of her story, exactly the way she wants it.

From day one, E knew the kind of team she wanted around her: bubbly, cheerful and full of a lust for life. She also told us she fancied a job in the office — so we made it happen.

E now works one hour a week, lending our management team a hand with admin and keeping them on top of their game. She even sent in a sick note when she was under the weather and couldn’t make it in.

It sounds like a small thing. It isn’t. It is E’s choice, E’s role and E’s routine — and that is exactly what person-centred support should look like.

E is thriving in her new home and loving life in her new community, trying out lots of new hobbies and meeting lots of new friends along the way.

But the highlight so far? A holiday to Towyn. E hadn’t been able to enjoy a holiday in years, but she was determined to give it a go — so her team went above and beyond to make it unforgettable. Every detail was planned to perfection, right down to matching pyjamas for the pamper party.

Lamb Rise is iBC Healthcare’s first core-and-cluster development, built in Staffordshire with Staffordshire County Council and the Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board. It offers accessible bungalows and self-contained apartments for people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and behaviours that challenge — including people moving on from hospital or from placements where support has broken down.

Everyone at Lamb Rise holds their own tenancy, with the right level of support at the right time. Because true independence isn’t about doing everything alone — it is about having the right people alongside you. Homes, not hospitals.

Here’s to many more happy chapters at Lamb Rise.
