Collinsons Court: six new homes coming to Trentham

Our brand new complex residential service in Stoke-on-Trent opens in early 2027 — six self-contained apartments built on a belief that has shaped everything we do: people deserve homes, not hospitals.

We are delighted to announce that Collinsons Court, our brand new complex residential service, will open at 56 Longton Road, Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent, in early 2027.

Collinsons Court is a residential alternative to institutional care. It has been designed for adults with high-acuity needs and behaviours that challenge, associated with autism, learning disabilities and other complex presentations — people for whom the right environment makes all the difference.

The service offers six solo self-contained apartments, each with its own front door. Alongside them sit large indoor communal spaces for anyone who wants company, and a dedicated sensory area for anyone who needs calm. It is a building shaped around choice: how much company, how much quiet, and when.

What Collinsons Court offers

Support is planned with people, not for them. A full-time on-site positive behaviour support practitioner works alongside the core staffing team, and our in-house Therapeutic Support Team is embedded from the very beginning to shape safe, effective, person-centred support and environments — rather than arriving after something has gone wrong.

A different kind of residential service

Collinsons Court does something we have not done before. Across our residential homes, people share a house together; our solo, own-front-door model has until now belonged to supported living. Collinsons Court brings the two together — six self-contained apartments, each with its own front door, inside a registered residential service. It is built for people who need residential-level support but for whom a shared house is the wrong environment, and for people who may want to step towards greater independence over time.

The support model is different too. Our in-house Therapeutic Support Team works across all of our services, but at Collinsons Court a positive behaviour support practitioner is based on site full-time, alongside the core staffing team. And rather than adapting an existing building, this one has been designed around high-acuity needs from the floor plan up: the apartments, the communal spaces and the sensory area were planned together, and technology runs through the service throughout.

Trentham itself is part of the offer. A shared vehicle, a bus stop a minute from the door and an easy walk to local shops and cafes mean the people who live at Collinsons Court are part of a neighbourhood, not set apart from one. That is what we mean when we say homes, not hospitals.

The opening builds on a track record we are proud of: 100% of our services are rated Good and Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission, and Collinsons Court will be held to that same standard from day one.
