Meet the Manager: Callum Armstrong

A Journey of Dedication and Progression, from Support Worker to Registered Manager at Orchard Court

Choosing a career path is often influenced by early experiences and inspirations. For Callum, it was his mother’s role as a support worker that paved the way.

Callum began his professional journey at Orchard Court as a support worker 11 years ago. Eager to advance his career and skills, he completed various NVQ levels. His role at Orchard Court evolved significantly over the years. Beginning as a support worker, and gradually progressing to a senior support worker, and then a team leader. Last year, He was offered the position of Home Manager. Embracing this role with enthusiasm, he is thrilled to share that he is now the Registered Manager!

What interested you in working within supportive environments?

Growing up, I spent a significant amount of time in supportive environments, even accompanying her and the people she supported on holidays. These experiences nurtured a passion in me for making a difference in the lives of others, ultimately guiding me towards a fulfilling career in the care industry.

Which areas do you love most about your role?

My passion for this job is the ability to make a positive impact on the lives of the people we support. Knowing that I can contribute to their well-being and happiness is incredibly rewarding. Whether it’s implementing new initiatives or simply being there for them, I take great pride in making a difference every day.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

Beyond my professional life, I have a deep love for animals and enjoy spending time visiting zoos and places like Tropical Bird Land. These excursions provide a wonderful escape and a chance to connect with nature, which I find incredibly refreshing.

What does the future look like for you?

Reflecting on my journey, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the future. From my early days influenced by my mother’s work to my current role, it has been a path of continuous learning, growth, and dedication to the people we support. I look forward to many more years of making a positive difference at Orchard Court.
